Legendary Rhône valley winemaker Michel Chapoutier has always believed that wines are about terroir — the unique combination of soil, sun, climate, and people that come together to make a wine. When he created his Côtes-du-Rhône Belleruche — white, rosé, and red — he envisioned food-friendly wines, intended to be served with classic French home cooking. With this in mind, he contacted celebrated American food writer and photographer Christopher Hirsheimer and together they developed six recipes inspired by Michel’s family’s favorite recipes and and his famed wines from the Côtes-du-Rhône. Belleruche at Home is a dynamic website that offers its visitors recipes, pairing suggestions, and information on the wines, the grape varieties, the winemaking process, and M. Chapoutier — the winery, its history, and the man behind the wines. Check back over the course of the summer and in the fall for new recipes, news from Chapoutier, and featured restaurants and wine shops.
